Paranormal Investigator Lorraine Warren Dead at 92
She was a respected paranormal investigator, along with her late husband Edward Warren Miney. Together, they were quite the team. Their life experiences, were the inspiration for a number of paranormal films as well, including The Conjuring, The Nun and Annabelle. Lorraine’s husband Ed, was a World War II United States Navy veteran and former police officer.
Ed would later become a lecturer, author and self-taught demonologist. Lorraine Rita Warren was a gifted clairvoyant, she worked alongside her husband as they investigated numerous haunting s around the world.
As a medium of sorts, Lorraine was able to tap into spiritual energies that lingered behind, during their investigations. Many believe, that this couple were crusaders against anything evil left behind. They did their best to help others while they were around.
Lorraine and Ed had accumulated a collection of cursed items thought to be invested with a demonic and/or ghostly presence. Both Ed and Lorraine investigated over 10,000 different paranormal related cases in their lives. No doubt, that they came across some rather strange things over the years.
With all of their stories, their experiences and documentations have been adapted into or inspired numerous different productions. To date, there have been 17 different films related to the Amityville Horror series and 5 other films related to The Conjuring Universe.
Several more future productions are scheduled to be made as well. Both Ed and Lorraine, were among the very first investigators to deal with the famous Amityville haunting scandal. Some believed including skeptics Perry DeAngelis and Steven Novella, that the haunting was entirely made up.
For more than 60 years, both Ed and Lorraine Warren investigated anything paranormal related. Lorraine was also a paranormal author and a member of the New England Society for Psychic Research. They will be missed by their family, fans and friends. From what is understood, Lorraine quietly passed away in her sleep on Thursday night.
