A bizarre incident took place recently on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018. A burglar broke in a woman’s home located in Limestone County, Alabama. While there, he refused to leave until his clothes were dry. He didn’t threaten Mary Royster but he did take advantage of her amenities.
Mary explained to WAAY-TV, that he wasn’t violent to her but he made himself at home it seems. Mary now laughs over the strange encounter, but at first was petrified by this strange man named Tyler Love.
Now, 31 year old Tyler Love, is facing jail time over what he did. He was previously released after having served time for another burglary related incident. He is currently at the Limestone County jail until he is processed for sentencing.
According to Mary, each drawer in her home was searched through. Love made himself at home it seems. From what is known he scrambled eggs, took a bath, shaved and even brushed his teeth.
The entire incident is ridiculous and disturbing on some level. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, there are an estimated 1.03 million home burglaries each and every year. The data shows that burglaries happen between the hours of 10 AM until 3 PM. Most homes are empty during this hours as most people are at work.
This is something to think about seriously and consider implementing a security system over. There are so many things that can happen in a blink of an eye. It is best to be prepared to keep yourself and your family safe.
Most convicted burglars are statistically between the ages of 36-50. The average age is going up for burglars, as younger criminals are turning to drug dealing and internet fraud as their methods of choice.
Both internet fraud and drug dealing has become far more lucrative in recent times. According to various experts, criminals don’t like the risks associated with break-ins. Statistically, criminals are less likely to be caught selling drugs or using the internet to cheat people.
There are always those who are looking for an easy way out. They will stop at nothing to get what they want. Our society has a hidden underbelly of criminal activity, that happens each and every day. It is wise to always pay attention around you and keep things into perspective.
