During a rather strange moment, someone known as A. Campbell came to collect their prize money from the Jamaican Super Lotto. It was amazing for them to win $158.4 million dollars. Perhaps because they are a fan of the Wes Craven horror movie franchise series ‘Scream’, they arrived wearing a mask to hide their identity from public.
Previously, people have worn emoji and animal masks to disguise their identity. No doubt, this was out of fear. Likely they would be harassed if they revealed themselves.
It begs the question, what would someone do in the same situation? Would they keep themselves anonymous as much as possible? Often when people become rich like this, they spend their fortune quickly, thinking it will never run out.
They do not prepare for the future and burn through everything they have. This is happened many times before. People are selfish and self centered, when it comes to certain things. Money it seems changes people rather quickly. Those who do not have it want it and others that have it, want even more.
The masked Scream faced winner is the 17th person to win such a grand prize. This mask has since become a iconic part of Hollywood and a part of the Halloween holiday to boot. The man seen, has only been identified as A. Campbell. More than likely, this is a reference to actress Neve Campbell who played the character Sidney Prescott, she appeared throughout different installments of the franchise.
From what is understood, “Campbell” was very emotional after winning. He apparently went through a lot of pain and suffering before actually claiming his win. He was sick for a while before finally claiming the winning ticket 54 days later.
The ticket was purchased in Kingston according to St. Lucia News. When questioned about the winning moment, Campbell said the following: “I looked at my ticket and ran into my bathroom and said, ‘I won! I won!’ From the day I found out that I won, I’ve been sick.”
“My head hurt me for three days because I was thinking so much. [Wondering] if what I’ve been longing for really came true. I had a belly ache for two weeks, sometimes I feel so much pain I forgot that I had won.”
When question about what he will do with his winnings, he said he will find a nice house to live in. He hasn’t found one yet but is still looking around. When asked about the numbers he picked for his ticket, they all came to him in a dream.
